The journey is just getting started…
We have grown up and lived in the beautiful countryside of Rutland. It has been our dream for as long as we can remember to bring the truly phenomenal natural world to life for visitors.
Being the first place in England where ospreys successfully bred in 150 years, it is already a special place where wildlife thrives. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to actively further the indigenous species that currently exist within the landscape today as well as re-introduce those who should abide in this cherished piece of Rutland?
Planning permission is currently being sought for a new conservation-inspired visitor attraction which will bring together an exploration of nature, wildlife, play and adventure offering exceptional value to the surrounding area.
For the first time in 1000 years, visitors would be able to experience Eurasian brown bears, grey wolves and the Eurasian lynx roaming free amongst the towering oak and ash of the Burley countryside, as they once did.
Our plan is to open a world you never knew existed, with a woodland wonder that will take you on a British safari of discovery.
Wild Rutland will be a place to both relax and unlock your sense of curiosity. It will be a place for all nature lovers.
From the adrenalin rush of a high ropes adventure across the canopy of the woodland, to a restorative walk within the serene countryside, followed by a delicious refuel in our restaurant – Wild Rutland will have something for everyone and we hope it is going to be a place for all to enjoy.
